25 Years of Community Support!

Food life lineThose attending the Bite™ can help support Food Lifeline in three ways.   Food Lifeline is the largest non-profit food bank distribution agency dedicated to ending hunger is Washington.  Last year, Food Lifeline secured 21 million pounds of food-the equivalent of nearly 16.4 million meals-to feed hungry families and individuals throughout Western Washington.  Food Lifeline distributes food to more than 550,000 people through a network of 250+ food banks, hot meal programs and shelters.

In 2007 the Bite puts the focus on Food Lifeline in a whole new way!  As you walk into the Bite of Seattle this year, you will notice Donation Stations where YOU can help feed hungry families in Western Washington by donating to Food Lifeline.  Food Lifeline representatives will be on hand to answer questions about their goals and programs.  Help out Food Lifeline and receive a token of appreciation!  Suggested donation is $5.

In 2007 the Bite introduces The Alley hosted by Tom Douglas.  Six Seattle-area restaurants per day will participate in this event- 14 total!  Just North of KeyArena, stop by and get a heaping meal of specialties from these restaurants for only $8.50!  Proceeds benefit Food Lifeline.

Last year the Bite of Seattle also hosted the Taste of the Nation Gala in Fisher Pavilion the Thursday night before the Bite opened.  Over 50 of Seattle's finest chefs participated in this great event that supports Share Our Strength which in turn funds local charities such as Food Lifeline.  Last year’s event raised $195,000 and we are proud to help Taste of the Nation celebrate its 20th Anniversary in 2007.  This event will take place on Thursday, July 19th, in Seattle Center's Fisher Pavilion.  For more information and to purchase tickets, please click here.   You can watch a short video about Taste of the Nation here.

Culinary Arts Promotion Association The Association benefits from the donations and proceeds from the beer & wine garden at the Bite. The association makes donations that support culinary educational programs at the area schools.  This year's CAPA receipient is Fare Start.
